Don’t Breaking These 5 weight loss rules
Why you’re not losing weight? You’re exercising, eat healthily yet the results are not matching your efforts. More often than not, we unwittingly sabotage our weight loss efforts by breaking some weight loss rules.
WHAT TO DO INSTEAD: Eat several smaller meals throughout the day. Ideally, you should eat every 3 to 4 hours. Ensure your breakfast is more than a cup of coffee or tea and that it contains premium quality protein.
Drinking your calories – Constant starvation mode
You know the feeling, you start dieting all psyched. Two days later you hopelessly succumb to your sugar cravings because you can no longer control your hunger pangs. This happens not because your diet is low-cal, but because you make a wrong calorific distribution.
WHAT TO DO INSTEAD: Don’t include drinks like juices, soft drinks and other liquids in your diet, try eating the real fruit. Fruit will keep you full longer and you will avoid the extra calories. Drink plenty of water though, it’s a natural, zero-calorie drink!
WHAT TO DO INSTEAD: Devote 15 minutes for each meal to savor the taste, textures, and color in your food. It will be a pleasurable experience and you will be better able to monitor your intake and stop eating before you overdo it.
Keep toppings and dressings in check
You might be eating lean meats and vegetables day after day but what are you sprinkling
over them? If you use heavy dressings and fat-packed toppings that contain oils, cheeses and other dairy products then that’s to blame for your weight loss failure.
WHAT TO DO INSTEAD: Don’t buy store-bought salad dressings and sauces, even if it says “diet” on the label. Prepare your own with pure ingredients.
Not doing everything you can
Dieting alone cannot help you lose weight. You might succeed but it will take longer and the ride will more likely be torturous.
WHAT TO DO INSTEAD: Join the gym or exercise at home. You need basic equipment that’s also cheap, a stability ball, a skipping rope, or a yoga mat.
